Where can I use Access to Work for marketing?

Access to Work is a government scheme that helps people with a disability or health condition get the support they need to work. Many people think of it only for physical equipment or travel costs, but it can also cover services and software if they make your job more manageable.

When it comes to marketing, Access to Work might help with:

  • Marketing platforms – Tools like Inkie that save time, reduce overwhelm, and keep your business visible.

  • Freelancer or VA support – Someone to help implement marketing tasks you can’t easily manage alone.

  • Training – Sessions that help you learn systems and build confidence in promoting your business.

What you can access will depend on your individual needs and how you make your case to Access to Work. The key is to explain how marketing tasks affect your ability to run your business, and how support (whether software or people) would reduce that barrier.

Inkie can often be part of this solution because:

  • It automates tasks that are repetitive and time-consuming.

  • It removes the barrier of having to constantly think about “what to post.”

  • It reduces the cognitive load of marketing — which can be especially valuable if you live with fatigue, neurodivergence, or fluctuating health.

Next steps

  • Visit the Access to Work page to learn how to apply.

  • If you’re unsure what to request, speak to your Work Coach or advisor — many aren’t aware marketing support can be included, but it can.

Why this matters
Marketing is essential for running a business, but for many disabled founders, it’s also one of the hardest tasks to sustain. Access to Work is there to remove barriers, and that can absolutely include marketing help.
