Why We Start with Branding
Before we create a single post, blog, or newsletter, we ask you to complete your branding. Why? Because every business—no matter the size—needs a clear voice and visual identity to be recognisable, trusted, and consistent. At Inkie, branding isn’t about logos or flashy slogans. It’s about getting to the heart of what you stand for, how you speak, and who you’re speaking to. When you complete the branding section, you help us: -Reflect your tone of voice across every piece of content -Align the style of your posts with your values and purpose -Choose imagery, colours, and layout that feel right for your brand -Write in a way that speaks directly to your ideal customer The AI doesn’t guess—it works with what you give it. So the more honest and detailed you are, the more 'you' the final result will feel. You’ll be asked about: -Your brand words (how you want to be perceived) -Your purpose (why your business exists) -Your USP (what makes you different) -Your tone (how you talk) -Your visual style (colours, photography, fonts) Already have branding? You can paste in your guidelines. If not, our helper will walk you through it, step by step and create something that beautifully reflects your brand.
Your Business: Info We Need
This section is where you tell us all about what you do—your products, services, pricing, and who’s involved in the business. If you’ve already got a website, the quickest option is to copy and paste details from your About page and product/service descriptions. You can drop them straight into the Business Info document, or let Inkie Imp guide you through it in conversation. Not sure what to include? Don’t worry—Inkie Imp will ask the right questions to help you pull out the details that matter. Whether you're a one-person operation or a growing team, this step is all about making sure the content we generate properly represents your business and what you offer. The more detail you share, the more accurate and personal your content will be. What to Include in Your Business Info Here’s what Inkie Imp will ask for—or what you can paste in if you already have it written: 1. What you sell or offer Whether it’s handmade jewellery, online courses, gardening services or coaching—describe what your product or service is and what it does. What does it help with? Why do people buy it? 2. Pricing (optional) Share your prices if you want them included in your content (you can say if you’d rather keep them private). This helps Inkie craft more targeted posts and blogs—especially when it comes to value and positioning. 3. Who it’s for Who benefits from what you offer? This doesn’t have to be super technical. Just let us know the types of people, businesses, or situations your product or service is designed for. 4. Where you offer it Online, local only, UK-wide, in person, delivery-only—whatever applies. Letting Inkie know where and how people can buy or book helps us write clearer calls to action. 5. Who’s in the business Tell us about the people behind the brand—just you, or a team? If it’s just you, feel free to share a bit of your story or journey if you haven’t already done so in your Branding doc. 6. Any extras or future plans Do you offer workshops, memberships, bundles, or add-on services? Planning something exciting soon? Include it here so Inkie can work it into your content.
Who Are You Talking To?
If you haven’t worked on your ideal customer before, this is a really useful exercise—even if you think you already know. Getting clear on who you’re speaking to helps Inkie write content that connects, not just fills space. Think of it less like building a corporate customer avatar, and more like describing a real person you’d love to help. Inkie Imp will guide you through creating one (or more) profiles that cover: -Who they are and what stage they’re at -What they care about (and what they struggle with) -What they’re searching for or trying to achieve -How your product or service fits into their life You don’t need to be super specific with stats—no need to guess their exact age or income bracket unless it’s relevant. What matters most is understanding what motivates them and what they need from you. If you already have customer profiles or examples of past clients you loved working with, you can copy and paste those in instead. Marketing Preferences
This section is quick—but important. It helps Inkie understand what kinds of content you like and any key dates that matter to your business across the year. In this step, Inkie Imp will ask you to: – Choose the types of social posts you’d like to see in your content plan – Add any annual dates you want mentioned (like holidays, events, or personal milestones) – Let us know what day of the week you’d like your blog posts to go live That’s it for now! Details that change month to month—like sales, launches, or new testimonials—can be added later when you submit your monthly updates. The more you include here, the more your content will reflect the rhythm of your business and the moments that matter to you.
