How to Set Up a Facebook Business Page

To use Inkie’s autoposting features (or just make your business easier to find online), you’ll need a Facebook Business Page. Even if you're mostly using Instagram, Facebook still requires that your Insta account is connected to a Page — it’s how Meta works.

Here’s how to set one up, step by step.

Step 1: Go to the right place

You’ll need a personal Facebook account to create a business page — don’t worry, it won’t show on your public profile.

📍 Visit: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create

Choose “Business or Brand” to get started.

Step 2: Enter your Page details

You’ll be asked for:

  • Page name – usually your business name

  • Category – type in what you do (e.g. “Therapist”, “Yoga Studio”, “Dog Walker”)

  • Bio/About – a short description of what your business offers

You can add more detail later, so don’t stress about making it perfect now.

Step 3: Add your profile and cover photos

Upload a profile picture (often your logo or a photo of you) and a cover image (a banner that represents your work).

If you don’t have these ready, you can skip this and come back to it later.

Step 4: Finish your Page setup

Facebook might guide you through a few optional extras like:

  • Adding contact info

  • Linking a WhatsApp account

  • Inviting friends to like your page

These can all be skipped or done later. The important part is that your Page now exists — and you’re ready to link it to Instagram or Inkie.

Step 5: Link Instagram

Once your Page is live:

  1. Go to Page Settings

  2. Find Linked Accounts

  3. Choose Instagram and follow the prompts to log in

This connects your Instagram account to your new Facebook Business Page, which is required for Meta’s permissions system (used by Inkie, Buffer, Later, etc).

You’re all set

Once you’ve done this, you can return to Inkie and continue connecting your socials in the autoposting setup.
