How Early Testers Are Shaping Inkie’s Future

How Early Testers Are Shaping Inkie’s Future

If you’ve ever wondered who’s really behind the direction of a platform like Inkie, the answer is simple: our community. Every feature, every improvement, and every small detail that makes Inkie different has been shaped by the honest input and lived experiences of early testers. This isn’t just lip service , it’s the foundation of how Inkie grows.

From the start, I knew Inkie had to do things differently. Like so many founders, especially those of us who land in business because we care about something (not because we’re natural marketers), I felt firsthand how overwhelming and inaccessible most tools could be. So, instead of building for a theoretical ‘ideal customer’ on a whiteboard, we opened the doors right from the start and said: come in, have a play, and tell us what’s not working for you. That approach has changed everything , and still does, every day.

Why Early Testers Matter

The traditional way of launching a business tool is simple: build it in secret, ship it, and hope people like it. But most of us know how easily that can go wrong, especially if you weren’t part of the ‘in crowd’ those tools are designed for. Inkie was born from the opposite , inviting a true mix of people (not just the techies or the confident) to test and give feedback as we went along.

That has meant:

  • Users who never saw themselves as ‘business people’ translating their lived experience into surprisingly practical ideas that shape features

  • Neurodivergent and non-traditional thinkers giving honest reactions to everything from language prompts to onboarding screens , sometimes blunt, sometimes emotional, always valuable

  • Solo founders and people with low tech confidence reminding us that simplicity isn’t easy, but it’s absolutely necessary

Stories From the Community

One tester shared how anxious they felt about filling in forms online. Their feedback led us to redesign workflows so users could answer one question at a time in conversation, rather than being dumped in a long, intimidating form. Someone else struggled with reading and writing , their notes inspired our voice-led, chat-based system so anyone can create content even if typing isn’t easy.

We’ve also heard from people who lost hours just searching for the right image, or needed reminders to keep marketing going during chaotic weeks. Because of them, Inkie now automatically sources royalty-free images and offers simple scheduling , so the pressure isn’t always on you to remember every detail.

The Value of Diverse Voices

A ‘one size fits all’ approach never really fits anyone at all , especially those with different ways of thinking, learning, or working. That’s why being truly accessible has been the heartbeat of Inkie from the start. Lived experience isn’t a nice-to-have in our testing group; it’s the whole point. We believe great products get built when you listen to the people who’ve been left out, not just those who’ve always found things easy.

What’s Next: Why We Need You

Inkie is growing, and every new stage of development brings more opportunities to involve fresh perspectives. If you’ve ever felt left out by traditional business platforms , maybe you’re neurodivergent, maybe writing isn’t your strong suit, maybe you just want marketing sorted so you can focus on what matters , we want your input. Whether you’re a seasoned founder or just getting started, your experience is crucial.

Building With, Not For, Our Community

If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this journey, it’s that building with people , not just for them , is what makes real change possible. Thank you to every tester, every voice, and every person who’s pointed out what doesn’t work. You’re not just shaping a product, you’re shaping a movement towards businesses tools that are genuinely accessible, empowering, and honest.
